"Sing out loudly, sway your hips, and shout words of encouragement to the band."

Dogstand - A brief history

Formed in the early-00's from the ashes of britpop band BUM!, and led by songwriter and guitarist Graeme Martin, Dogstand have carved out a niche in and around London over the last two decades with their unique flavour of "prog-pop".

"A little estuary rock, a little prog, a little 60′s organ-driven pop. You get value for your pound with Dogstand, make no mistake."

Johnno Casson

Fresh On The Net

Delivering chunky melodies and suburban angst Dogstand have in their own way built up quite a reputationfor creating thoughtful pop tunes for the Prozac generation. They write cynical, angry, sad tunes with pathos and humour swathed in appealing melodies.

"The Assistant is brilliant! Sounding exactly like a cross between Cardiacs and The Divine Comedy with hints of early Lush. "The font of all knowledge, with the knowledge of all the fonts." - Skills.

Musician and songwriter

After taking a break from gigging in the late 00's, during which they recorded their debut long-player "Wonky Love Songs", they began playing live shows again in February 2012 for the first time since 2007. The song "Here Comes Devil Dog" won them a place in the "Hard Rock Rising" heats at the Hard Rock Cafe in London.

"The Assistant" from Wonky Love Songs achieved radio play on BBC 6 Music, courtesy of Tom Robinson, and non-album track "Here Comes The Night" was on regular circulation on Croydon Radio.

The band also played on the London circuit, with notable shows at O2 Islington Academy 2, and on the supporting bill for The Blockheads at the Crystal Palace Garden Party.

The Dogstand of today are a 5-piece band, comprised of Graeme Martin on vocals and guitar; Paul Langford on lead guitar; Si Keefe on Bass; Leo VK on keyboards; and Stu Soulsby on Drums.
